Lace Monitor
The Lace monitor ( commonly called goannas) is a cold- blooded reptile.
They prowl around picnics to eat scraps and they also eat insects, birds, bird eggs and small mammals.
Lace monitors are similar to snakes. They have long forked tongues that stick out to scent the air. The air is "tasted" by a special organ in the roof of the mouth.
